Mentoring is a relationship in which I have been given the opportunity to help a fellow bodyworker better hone their skill and ability to help their clients. Mentees come into mentorship when they are feeling stuck in their practice and need help progressing professionally. I have been mentoring massage therapists for over 20 years, and Structural Integration students and practitioners for the last 12.
Mentoring sessions can be tailored to meet the needs of the mentee. For instance, I can work on you, explaining as I go why and what I’m doing. Or you can bring in a client and watch me work as I explain why and what I’m doing.
If you are a Structural Integration student or practitioner who is struggling with SI, you can bring in a client to work on and I can help you strategize a treatment as well as step in to assist at the table with techniques and ideas whenever you want coaching in the moment. We can do this as one-off sessions or an entire 10-series with your client.
If you are struggling with a particular session in the Rolfing series, we can have a mentoring session around just that one session. Or you can find a friend who also wants mentoring and the two of you can work on each other as you both ask questions and I share coaching on techniques and strategies.
If you feel your technique toolkit is lacking, we can just workshop new techniques.
And I’m adaptable … tell me what you need and we’ll find a way to help you move forward in your profession.
